Osaka Castle Park
Osaka Castle is one of Japan’s three most famous castles, originally built in the 16th century by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The surrounding gardens are especially beautiful in spring, when cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Visitors can admire the majestic main keep and moat up close, experiencing a powerful symbol of Osaka and Kyoto’s history, culture, and authority.
Shinsaibashi
Shinsaibashi is one of Osaka’s most vibrant shopping districts, offering a mix of shopping, dining, and entertainment. Here you’ll find everything from traditional shops and long-established stores to modern department stores and trendy fashion brands. It’s the perfect place to experience Osaka’s lively “downtown culture.”
Nara Deer Park (Nara Park)
Home to about 1,200 free-roaming deer, Nara Park is a symbol of the city. The deer are regarded as sacred messengers of the gods and are friendly to visitors. Tourists can purchase special deer crackers to feed them and enjoy close interaction. The park is also surrounded by historic World Heritage sites, including Tōdai-ji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine.
Afternoon: to Kyoto
Yasaka Shrine
Yasaka Shrine is one of Kyoto’s most iconic shrines, with a history of over a thousand years. It is closely associated with the famous Gion Matsuri, one of Japan’s three greatest festivals, which originated here. The vivid red gates and rows of lanterns create a quintessential atmosphere of the ancient capital.
Gion
Located around Yasaka Shrine, Gion is Kyoto’s most famous geisha district, known for its well-preserved traditional townhouses (machiya) and stone-paved streets. It remains the cultural heart of geisha and maiko (apprentice geisha) activities, where visitors may catch glimpses of them in elegant kimono. Gion is especially enchanting in the evening, with its teahouses and lantern-lit streets offering a refined taste of Kyoto’s nightlife.

Nijo Castle
Built in 1603 under the order of Tokugawa Ieyasu, Nijo Castle symbolizes the Tokugawa Shogunate’s authority in Kyoto. It is renowned for its well-preserved Momoyama-period architecture and gardens. One of its most distinctive features is the “nightingale floors,” corridors that chirp like birds when walked upon, designed to guard against intruders.
Kiyomizu-dera
One of Kyoto’s most famous temples, Kiyomizu-dera was founded in 778. Its wooden stage, known as the “Kiyomizu Stage,” extends 13 meters above the hillside, offering sweeping views of Kyoto city and beautiful seasonal scenery. The Otowa Waterfall, with its three streams, is believed to grant blessings for success in studies, health, and longevity.
Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion)
A UNESCO World Heritage site, Kinkaku-ji is named after its golden-leaf-covered main hall, the Golden Pavilion. Its reflection shimmering on the Mirror Pond creates one of Kyoto’s most iconic views, changing with each season. Originally built as the villa of shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, it showcases the opulence and artistic beauty of the Muromachi period.
Fushimi Inari Taisha
The head shrine of all Inari shrines in Japan, Fushimi Inari Taisha is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates forming mystical tunnels along the mountain paths. Dedicated to Inari, the deity of agriculture and business prosperity, it has long been deeply revered by merchants and common people. Walking through the endless rows of torii is an unforgettable Kyoto experience.

Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge- sightseeing from the coach
Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge
Spanning about 500 meters across the eastern and western shores of Lake Kawaguchi, Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge is one of the area’s landmark structures. From the bus window, visitors can enjoy stunning views of Mount Fuji reflected on the lake, especially on clear days when the mountain and water blend into a breathtaking panorama.
At night, the illuminated bridge creates a serene contrast with the silhouette of Mount Fuji and the quiet lakeside. During the bus ride, travelers can effortlessly take in the “mountain-and-lake scenery” in its full glory—without even leaving their seats.
Lake Kawaguchi Cruise
Lake Kawaguchi
Among the Fuji Five Lakes, Lake Kawaguchi is the most accessible and well-equipped for visitors, offering beautiful scenery in every season. Tourists can take sightseeing boats to enjoy Mount Fuji’s reflection on the lake, experiencing the harmonious beauty of “mountains and waters.”
In spring, cherry blossoms bloom; summer brings fresh greenery; autumn offers colorful foliage; and in winter, the snow-capped Mount Fuji creates a breathtaking panorama—making it one of the best spots for capturing the full view of the iconic mountain.
Ōishi Park
Located on the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi, Ōishi Park is one of the best spots to enjoy views of Mount Fuji and the lake. The park features expansive flower lawns that bloom throughout the year: pink moss phlox in spring, lavender in summer, autumn foliage, and snowy landscapes in winter—all beautifully framed by Mount Fuji.
The highlight is the lavender season (late June to mid-July), when the vibrant purple fields and the reflection of Mount Fuji create an iconic, postcard-perfect scene. The park also offers scenic walking paths and a cozy café, allowing visitors to stroll, relax, and capture stunning photos along the way.
